Easy 20 Minute Beef Teriyaki. Tender, juicy and smothered with a homemade teriyaki sauce. So much better than takeout!

Teriyaki beef in a skillet with a wooden spoon.

Hi guys! Itโ€™sย Kelley back from Chef Savvy! Today I am sharing this Easy Beef Teriyaki! A quick and easy dinner that is ready in under 20 minutes!

I love making my own teriyaki sauce at home. Itโ€™s just as flavorful, super easy and a lotย healthier. I adapted this sauce from my Easy Chicken Teriyaki.

Beef teriyaki in a white bowl garnished with scallions and eating with black chopsticks.

The teriyaki sauce consists of soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, fish sauce, ginger, garlic andย brown sugar. The sauce gets nice and thick with a simpleย cornstarch slurry (1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon cold water).

I like to serve my Beef Teriyaki overย fried riceย orย noodles. Either way itโ€™s awesome. Enjoy!

This was so easy, and soooo good. I currently live 45 miles away from town, where there’s only one Chinese restaurant, so learning how to make the dishes my son and I enjoy is a necessity. I served it over rice with steamed broccoli. Yummy!

The steak that stays in my memory was a NY strip cooked in a skillet on the range. I was a college student living off-campus. It so far exceeded any steak I had had up to that point that it has become a legend. Now, as a (much) older adult, I like grilling steaks on the back patio with my husband, having a beer, eating boiled peanuts, and talking, while we wait for the charcoal fire to come up. In other words, the steak is great; but I like the ritual, too.

  8. Hello, interesting recipe ๐Ÿ˜‰ canโ€™t wait to try it. I want to ask, no need to marinate the beef with the sauce overnight? Thankyou ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. You don’t need to but it never hurts. It adds so much more flavor the longer it is marinated. Thanks for choosing one of my recipes! XOXO
